Boeing 787 Dreamliner release date now set for early 1st qtr of 2011
















Boeing has now confirmed that the 787 Dreamliner release date has been pushed back to early next year, the sixth such delay. The Seattle based company says that it is currently on track to deliver the first orders with its delivery schedule. Continental Airlines has placed orders for the aircraft, but is still committed to its order, as is other airlines that have placed orders for the 787 Dreamliner.

Five fun facts about the aircraft:

It promises to be quieter than Boeing's rival Airbus's A380

There are currently 847 orders in total for the 787

The lowest 787 price is $150 million US.

50% of the aircraft is constructed from composite materials, which represents 80% by volume.

15% is made of titanium.
